Where to Stay in Williams and the South Rim

The home base for the Buffington Cousins Reunion 2026, will be the Grand Canyon Railway and Hotel in Williams. We have reserved a block of rooms at a group rate at this hotel and the Santa Fe Conference Room will serve as our “hub” for the four days. The hotel is just steps away from the train station and about a block from downtown Williams. There are RV sites available as well, though not at a group rate.  For those planning to stay overnight at the South Rim  on Friday 7/30/2026, after the train ride and bus tour to the South Rim, we have reserved a block of rooms at a group rate at the Maswik Lodge. Please note, if you plan to stay at these hotels during your stay you must reserve your room by April 30th to ensure that you receive the group rate. You will need to contact the Grand Canyon Railway and Hotel by April 30th 2026 at one of the contacts listed on this page to ensure you receive the group rate.  Let them know that you are with the Buffington Cousins Reunion. Summer is the height of the busy season for the hotel and reservations need to be secured early to ensure your stay.

There are several Airbnb and VRBO rentals available in the area. If this option appeals to you, you will want to reserve well in advance as this is the high season in northern Arizona. There are hotels within a quarter of mile walking distance of the Grand Canyon Railway and Hotel, including the Star Hotel Route 66, Rodeway Inn & Suites, and Econo Lodge Inn & Suites, to name a few.
